Im a 46 year old father of 3 children under 10 so my free time is spent with my family having as much fun as possible!
I studied Acupuncture at the International College of Oriental Medicine graduating in 1998, although I have 20 years experience treating patients I will always be a student of Acupuncture and the pulse, when you think you know the subject, another layer of depth and complexity opens up.
The style of acupuncture I practice is a classical style called Stems and Branches, which is highly refined, and widely considered the highest form of acupuncture, it is the oldest in existence, ancient and full of magic.
After graduating I went straight into full-time acupuncture working at the Bournemouth clinic and also the Wessex Healthy Living Trust (1998-2004), which is a busy multidisciplinary clinic, in 2000 I started working for the drug action team in Poole treating addictions, cocaine, heroin, amphetamine, Valium and alcohol. I have also practised acupuncture at Lilliput Health, Poole Bay osteopaths and I am currently practicing at the Wimborne Clinic which I started in 2009.
In 2015 I returned to the International College Of Oriental Medicine as a post graduate Lecturer.
Although I studied at College, my own Acupuncture training had the flavour of a linage, I had the good fortune to be taught by three masters of Acupuncture, Dr JD Van Buren, Peter Van Kervel, and Joan Duveem.
Dr JD Van Buren is the man widely considered to have brought Classical Chinese Medicine from its native China to Europe where it is currently enjoyed something of a renaissance. I was lucky enough to have spent many hours clinical observation with him.
Peter Van Kervel I consider my main teacher, he is an international teacher and author of numerous Classical acupuncture books. I am deeply indebted to him for the time and effort he has invested in me and I will always be eternally grateful to him.
Joan Duveen is a Master of Classical Acupuncture who along with Peter Van Kervel taught me Stems and Branches Acupuncture. He has also taught me many continued professional development study over the 19 years i have been practicing.
